Once you take stock of your tableware and decor, fill in the missing pieces at the store. Here is everything you need to bring your Pinterest grazing table to life!

Draping Fabric

The key to getting that *elevated* grazing table look that’s all over Pinterest right now is draping lots and lots of fabric. This can obviously get expensive, so my budget-friendly tip is to skip the fabric store and, instead, buy a few oversized tablecloths at HomeGoods, Walmart, IKEA, Target, or Amazon.

I love using tablecloths for draping because they have a hem, rather than an unfinished edge. This saves so much time during the prepping stage, without impacting the holiday budget. I used around four 60″ x 120″ tablecloths for my 72″ inch credenza, but the amount you need will vary depending on the size of your table.

When shopping for tablecloths, opt for natural fibers like linen or cotton. This will give your grazing table a more organic look, which is perfect for Thanksgiving.

Serveware & risers

These clear acrylic buffet risers completely upgraded the design and function of my grazing table. They come in a set of six with varying heights to create a dynamic, layered look on your table. The trick is to spread the risers out on your table, then layer the tablecloths on top to hide them. That way, you get the different heights without the ugly riser look.

Your serveware will depend on your menu, but in most cases, you’ll need a variety of trays, platters, bowls, and pitchers to present your food and drinks. I usually find the best serveware pieces at my local thrift store. But if you don’t have any luck at yours, go straight to Amazon.

My advice? Skip the $200 Williams Sonoma candelabra and opt for this $12 IKEA one instead. They’re different styles, I know, but hear me out.

Get this Rustoleum Metallic Chrome spray paint for $6.47, give it two quick coats, and you’ll have an elevated candelabra for under $20. I did this exact DIY before the holiday season, and it worked so well!

How to Set Up Your Grazing Table

If you’re scrolling on Pinterest, wondering how you could ever recreate one of those grazing tables that looks like it belongs in a magazine spread, don’t worry.

Here’s the thing about grazing tables: no two look the same.

That’s the beauty of this tradition. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. There are, however, a few easy steps to help bring this extravagant display to life.

Once your base is set up, drape your fabrics or tablecloths on top. The more drama and layers, the better.

After that comes serveware. Think platters, trays, and bowls. You can mix and match different pieces, or source them all from the same set. The point is to display your food and drinks in a visually appealing, easy-to-serve way.
